G. Rio Hr. Sec. SchoolKohimaSix moments in a school day. Each one gives time back.
Teaching is the part of the day that matters. Everything around it, the registers, the retyping and the late-night messages, is where the hours go. Pick a time of day to see what changes.
Forty-two names, one at a time.
- Call the roll and tick a paper register
- Total it by hand at the end of the month
- Phone the parents of absent children, if there is time
Tap the two who are missing. That is the roll call.
Open the staff app and mark only the students who are absent or late. Everyone else is present, percentages work themselves out, and parents get an absence alert the same morning.
Seconds, not a roll call See Student ManagementPlay, pause, explain, rewind.
- Hunt for a video the night before
- Stop it every minute to explain
- Ask the same three hands to answer
A ready lesson that leaves room to teach.
Open an animated, curriculum-aligned presentation from Assist on the smart screen you already have. Mid-lesson, an in-chapter quiz picks the right student for each question, so the whole class takes part.
No slides to build the night before See AssistA free period spent typing.
- Type a worksheet and queue at the photocopier
- Write homework on the board for diaries
- Hear later that a parent never saw it
A drafted worksheet and homework that reaches home.
Pick a ready worksheet in Assist or let the worksheet maker draft one, then edit it. Homework goes out in a pre-filled subject format and parents see it in the app the same day.
Drafted in seconds, checked by you See CommunicationSent to a class with nothing to teach.
- Learn about the cover in the staff room
- Walk into a class you do not know
- Keep them quiet for forty minutes
Cover that is planned, and a period that still counts.
The timetable links to staff attendance, so cover goes to a free teacher of the same subject where possible. Assist worksheets work in substitution periods, so learning does not stop.
A useful period, not a lost one See Academics & ExaminationEvery mark copied three times.
- Correct a pile of papers by hand
- Copy marks into the register
- Copy them again into the report card sheet
Checked faster, entered once.
Scan objective answer sheets with the OMR scanner and upload marks in one click. AI suggests marks on written answers and you confirm them. Marks entered in your login fill the report card in your school’s format.
Marks entered once See report cardsYour personal number, in every class group.
- Parents message your own WhatsApp
- School business mixed with family chats
- Messages arriving long after school hours
Talk to parents without giving out your number.
Parents write to the class teacher in the Schoolcanvas app. They see your name, never your number, and you never see theirs. Messages to families go out in the school’s name.
Your number stays yours See CommunicationA school app for teachers, with the whole day in your pocket.
Every staff member gets the Schoolcanvas app on Android or iOS. These are the jobs it takes off a teacher’s desk. Each one is explained in full on its own page.

Student data is never used to train public AI models.
What it asks of a teacher. Less than you might think.
New software usually means new work before it saves any. These are the four things teachers ask about first.
One app to learn
The same staff app for attendance, homework, marks and messages. Training comes in short sessions, online or at your school.
Nothing new to install
Attendance needs no biometric machine, and Assist runs on the smart boards, panels or projectors your school already has.
Your judgement stays in charge
Every AI draft is yours to edit, and AI-suggested marks count only after you confirm them.
Material that keeps up
When the syllabus or exam pattern changes, the Assist academic team updates the lessons, worksheets and question bank.
Questions teachers ask about Schoolcanvas.
How do I mark attendance in the app?
Open the Schoolcanvas staff app and mark only the students who are absent or late. Everyone else is marked present, monthly and yearly percentages are calculated for you, and parents get an absence alert the same day. No biometric or RFID device is needed.
Do I have to share my phone number with parents?
No. Parents write to the class teacher in the app and see only your name, never your number, and you cannot see their personal numbers either. WhatsApp, SMS and email messages to families go out in the school’s name.
Do I have to enter marks more than once?
No. You enter marks once in your own login. The class register, term reports, report cards in your school’s format and the performance analysis are all built from those marks. With Assist, test marks flow into the same report cards.
Can I apply for leave and see my payslip in the app?
Yes. Teachers apply for leave in the Schoolcanvas app, and payslips appear in each staff login once the school publishes them.
Do I need to know how to write AI prompts?
No. Each AI-Play tool is ready to use. Choose the class, subject and chapter, and Assist creates a draft that you review and edit before students see it.
Which boards and classes does Assist cover?
Assist has content for CBSE, ICSE and state boards, from Nursery to Grade 12, following each board’s syllabus and question patterns.
Is student data used to train the AI?
No. Student data is never used to train public AI models. It belongs to the school and is protected with role-based access.
